Their worlds are falling apart around them, and you’re the key element in a plan to reconnect them, fusing each of their scattered worlds back together into one stable whole. In it, you’ll play as Maya, a woman psychically connected with her three parallel selves. Over the course of my demo, I found several points in each level that I could teleport between which makes it easier to explore the untouched corners of your map.Trinity Fusion is a 2.5D action rogue-lite set in a doomed, man-made multiverse. The multiverse setting means that the constant gains will entail unlocking new starting points where you can begin a new run. Hauser also notes that the story, which I didn’t get to see during my demo, will have an ending players can work toward and plenty of permanent progression. I was impressed by how authored much of what I played felt, but Craig Hauser, level and combat designer on Trinity Fusion, says that the game does indeed have procedurally generated levels. The early access launch will have nine to begin with, but Angry Mob plans to add more as it approaches 1.0. ![]() Each of these levels feels slightly different, with enough aesthetic and gameplay tweaks to keep things interesting. There's the Underground Labs, which are iron tunnels beneath the surface of the planet and Subterraria, which I don't see during my playtime, is also, obviously, subterranean, but with earthy interiors instead of sheet metal. Forge feels palpably hot, with glowing orange magma that peeks out of metal tanks, and which players will need to avoid in its pools along the ground. In addition to playing as multiple heroines, I also play through multiple distinct environments. ![]()
